Hello to you, readers. I do hope your respective October is going outstandingly. In Halloween's spirit, I've devised a festive dreamcast of a rife, forbidding 1820 short story--Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I'm dreamcasting it as an animated short.
It could posses gothically Fallish imagery & enact recounted events. Irving quotations should be implemented as narration. It can focus on Ichabod Crane's interactions with the assortment of locals, specifically Brom Bones and Katrina Van Tassel. A Sleepy Hollow short is up John R. Dilworth's alley. I'd be elatated with Warner Bros. as a distributor. Let's ascend into the casting choices, shall we?!
We'll begin with a quartet of bit roles. As the farmer who reveals Ichabod's apparent whereabouts in the epilogue, the grand Bill Fagerbakke could be fortible as a countryman. In the short story, the Van Tassel family have a Black servant--If there's anybody who'd maintain respectability in the role, it'd be the dignified Obba Babatunde. The beginning of the short can demonstrate the 2 possible origins of Sleepy Hollow. The german doctor could be voiced by Gary Cole, a sturdious actor with intensity. A contender for the chief is the presenceful Michael Horse, who'd embody the role thoroughly.
Proceeding to subsequent denizens of Sleepy Hollow, the wildlife Washington mentions are territory for Frank Welker (Frank could voice a husband, one of Brom's cohorts, Gunpowder, Daredevil and/or The Demonic Horse, too). The remaining hubbies oughta be voiced by Scott Menville, Remy Auberjonois, Bumper Robinson and Eric Bauza, folks with savviness (they too should double-role as a Bones crony). The Dutch wives could have vocalizations by Grey Griffin, Kimberly Brooks, Cree Summer, Tara Strong and Melissa Van Der Schyff (they're capable of voicing Crane's pupils and the sister suitors).
We continue. For the role of Hans Van Ripper, Dan Lauria's idealistic! He'd be believably dyspeptic. Kristin Chenoweth is compatible and has the spark to bring personality to Mrs. Van Tassel. Brian d'Arcy James has impeccability for role of Baltaus Van Tassel! He'd be buyable as a jovial man of prominence.
We've arrived at our trio of principals. Caissie Levy's a leading lady of verit. Cassie would exude small town rich girl vibes. She'd exude tempting cocotte qualities, too. I'm envisioning Alex Brightman as Abraham Van Brunt (a.k.a. Brom Bones). Brightman could convey Brom's butch, rowdy demeanor. Alex ought to provide the apparitioning noises of The Hessian, too (using the story's implications about The Headless Horseman). Adam Wylie has pertinence for the role of Ichabod Crane. Adam could convey Crane's unsavory, unsympathetic traits. Namely, Wylie can act callous and avariciously.
Lastly, I'm casting our storyteller. The narrator will be a sublime female in honor of Glenn Close's recital of the story--Jennifer Hale. Jennifer would be chillingly affective. Hale could be an immense accentuator. Hopefully these casting choices achieve fruition.
