Hey, there, friends. Today we're going to be discussing my most favourite Television series. I'm enamored by it. It's nearly dear to me and a portion of the DCAU that I totally admire. We'll be spieling about 1999's Batman Beyond. Let's take flight.

The production values had efforts thrown into them. This show had niftily enacted scores. Obviously, I get kicks out of Kristopher Carter's intro theme and Shirley Walker's outro music. Batman Beyond's sound-people definitely did their duties. The opening sequence is grandiloquent. Koko's animation services were sublime. This show's animation had divine color palettes. There were movements to the animation. In season 2, the animators successfully switched from hand-painted colors to digital coloring. The character-designers had dexterity. The show's background artists were adroit, particularly at crafting Neo Gotham. Because of its storyboard artists, it has superb, comic panel-esque cinematography.

Andrea Romano, the subject of my 2nd post, crafted realism with her voice-direction. Andrea and Leslie Lamers recruited splendid, pertinently chosen cast-members. In their 1st voice-over role, Will Friedle was an on-point, durable lead. Will did 2 distinctive voices and enacted Terry's growth. Kevin Conroy aged their Bruce Wayne voice fantastically and had believability. Conroy's experience was vocally evident. Kevin and Will established a rapport. I loved having Stockard Channing as a bittered, aged Barbara Gordon. I'm going to go out on a limb and state that Max is my favourite Cree Summer role! Cree was marvelous as a confidante for Terry's Batman. Teri Garr and Ryan Donohue offered support as Terry's family. A corresponding, diverse plethora of glorious people voice-acted on the show, too. A few people reprised their DCAU roles. There were exquisite instances of folks playing against type. Andrea and Leslie also knew how to recast a role, if required to.

This show had keen writers, with Hilary J. Bader being my personal favourite. Writing-wise, Batman Beyond had snappy dialogue and a knack for pacing/denouements. It has relatability for teens. Amongst standalone episodes, season 1's plot is overarched. Max spiced things up in the 2nd season. Social commentary was subtly peppered into the show. It referenced prior DCAU properties. I admire the Batsuit, gadgetry and Batmobile. This show mixed familiarity with originality. It was a refreshing take on Batman's mythos. The piece pushed envelopes with its darkness and thematic moments. There were bombin' action sequences. Terry, our Batman, was a developed lead and an idealistic successor. It's engrossing seeing an elderly Bruce Wayne. I love how Ace was incorporated. Batman Beyond had tons of cracking side-characters. In terms of Terry's rogues gallery, this show had thoroughly magnificently recurring villains and 1-time foes. I appreciate the show's humorous and lighthearted bits. It had significant 2-parters. I admire the slang crafted by the writers. Each episode was appropriately titled. Incidentally, I concur with Will Friedle. Out of the Past is my favourite episode, too.

The animation can contain errors, but that's forgeable. No shade to Lauren Tom, a wondrous talent, but Dana could sometimes be irksome from a writing standpoint. Lauren still rocked, though. It would've been healthier if Terry and Dana broke-up amicably but remained friends. Personally, I feel Terry and Max were compatible. I wish we saw more of Derek Powers (Blight) and Melanie Walker (Ten). Blight combined corporate cretinism with supervillainy and could've returned to retaliate. Melanie was this show's Catwoman and an eventually empowering character. Also, I'm humongous fans of Sherman Howard and Olivia d'Abo. Also, it there might've been coolness if the Anne Bancroft-type Selina Kyle (with Adrienne Barbeau returning) popped-up in some capacity. Same applies to Bruce reuniting with Dick Grayson, too (I think Dean Jones would've thrived as an older Dick). Maybe that could've transpired if the show had more seasons. If it only ran longer. Anyhow, I absolutely love the show. Its creators thrived with the premise. It's 3 seasons of schwayness. Please give it watch. It actually appeals to numerous demographics.
