Hi. This time 'round, I'm writing about a valued DreamWorks animated film. It premiered at Cannes in 2001. It's initiated a theme-park attraction, tie-in comics and a diversionful musical. I refer to Shrek. Let's commemorate the film's 20th b'day.
The CG animation was groundbreakable. It's still efficiently animated. The animators animated stuff that's arduous to animate. They translated models and designs to film. I'm admiring of the color-palates. There's naturalistical movements, detailing and texture to the animation. A bundle of settings, props, hairstyles and outfits were digitally crafted for the movie. There's neato shots.
The laudings of the film's music aspects are so warranted. The ironically written John Powell-Harry Gregson-Williams score is arranged and performed laudibly. Felicitous, scene-pertaining songs are implemented into the film. The end credits songs are bops, too.
Cameron Diaz was majorly boffo as a leading lady. Diaz totally compelled as the character of Princess Fiona. Cameron was vulnerable, simpatico, varied and soliditous. Similar to the shadeful director in All That Jazz, Lord Farquaad is a favourite John Lithgow role. John supplied a bastardly performance. Lithgow was believably haughty. The role of Donkey catered to Eddie Murphy's capabilities. Eddie endeared and was total joyousness. Murphy had legitimacy as a confidante. Mike Myers is surprisingly grounded as Shrek! He's actually a straight man. Mike's usage of a Scottish accent was sagacity. Myers actually partook in multilayered dramatics.
The writers contorted William Steig's mirthy book into a exposit script. It's a wonderfully conceived, atypical fairy tale. The story focuses on the 4 principals. Its parodies and montaging are only-pointed. There's amusing dialogue and scenarios. There is chemistry amongst the principal roles and magnitude to the film. There's naturalism in the plot and character development.
Unsurprisingly, Steig was won over by the movie. It's advanced and multigenerational. Vicki Jenson and Andrew were visionarious. They eventually meshed with the producers. The film is caliber. I dedicate this post to a cordial, bodacious, versatilely consummate individual. He's a gracious guy! It's an honor knowing him.
